One Nap and Lots of Sheets

Well, time is rushing by at an alarming rate, and my babies are growing up (like you didn't know that already). This week I decided it was time for Aaron to say goodbye to his morning nap. For the past month or so naps have become more challenging, and trying to schedule around 2 naps is really hard, so I ended the battle. This went really well on Friday and Saturday when the boys and I were out and about for the morning. Sunday was a bit harder, and it seems like if Aaron doesn't have some serious stimulation to keep him engaged, he gets really cranky. But the good news is that because we don't have to be home for Aaron's morning nap, activities have just become infinitely more feasible, so I'm hoping this won't be too problematic!

Mudgie, who has been doing great with the potty training, has been having some wet mornings. He still wears a diaper for sleeping, and it's clear that he still really needs it. In fact, he needs it so much that he had several nights last week where he filled it up and soaked the sheets! We've now been taking extra care to make sure he goes before bed.

As for playtime, Aaron is very into playing in the fort this week. The fort is the hockey goal with a blanket over it and a pillow inside. Aaron loves to go in and out of the fort, and cuddle with the pillow inside. He has also been enjoying the Buzz Lightyear Mudgie got for Christmas. What's funny is that he plays with it exactly how Mudgie does, pressing the buttons to make Buzz say different things until he says, "To infinity and beyond." Then he makes Buzz fly around the room as the music plays. Clearly, he's been observing and taking notes for a while.

Mudgie is all about his "babies" this week. He has a doll and stuffed bear (that was actually my mom's...she had named it Eli Bear) that he pretends are crying and then he goes to take care of them. He makes them picnics in his bedroom (because "there is no kitchen in his room"), and builds them tents, which of course Aaron wants to play in (that always goes well).

Both these boys have such strong personalities, and I love watching them come out.
