A Christmas tree and swaddle free

So Aaron is officially swaddle free. He continues to be a terrible sleeper, and I figured that at this point, his sleep has gotten so bad that it couldn't be made any worse by taking away the swaddle, which would have to be done at some point anyway. So, off went the swaddle, and in came Aaron to the big bed. Yup, that's right. He's officially moved into the big bed. You see, the one good side effect Aaron has had to removing the swaddle is that he actually sleeps peacefully in bed with me, as opposed to thrashing around all night. At least this way, even though he's up every 1-2 hours, I'm still getting enough sleep to at least pretend to function the next day.

We got our Christmas tree on Saturday, and we went to a new place to get it this year. They had a good selection of trees, but they also had a huge Christmas display inside their store, and much to Mudgie's delight, a train that went around and around. I think he watched that thing for 20 minutes, and would have loved to stay there even longer! We decorated the tree on Sunday, and Mudgie was equally fond of that activity. He watched and listened carefully as Dave explained how to put the ornaments on the tree, and then he spent almost 30 minutes helping me to decorate. We were all amazed at his patience! Of course as nap time approached, his level of frustration quickly escalated. He is now in full Christmas mode, and I'm really looking forward to spending the holidays with him this year.
