On Friday night, Dave and I had our first date since Aaron was born. We had 2 babysitters, Jen and Sarah Beattie, come over for the night. I was a little worried about how Mudgie would do when we left, but he was in heaven. He and Sarah were playing chase, and he was excited about a night with his "friends." According the girls, they had a lot of fun playing, watched a little tv, and he went to bed without issue. Aaron, on the other hand, was very overtired, but didn't want to sleep or take a bottle. My guess is that a lot of crying was involved, but he was quite when we got home, and then went right to sleep.
On Saturday, Mudgie and Aaron had a date with Talia, their friend from daycare. We all went to Edaville Railroad down in Carver. They have some amusement park rides, but the highlight is a 2.5 mile train ride that goes through the woods and around the cranberry bogs. They have lots of lights and Christmas decorations up this time of year, making it even more exciting. All the kids had a great time there, and when we were done, we went back to Talia's house for dinner. That's when everything fell apart.
Mudgie was very excited to see Talia's house. We had never been there before. On the car ride there, he said, "Me want to see Talia's bed." Both Mudgie and Talia were very excited when we got to her place, but they were both a little over-tired by this point. Neither of them were really in the sharing toys mood, and Mudgie was having meltdowns at the drop of a hat. He didn't eat a bite of food, and it was a very stressful end to an otherwise fabulous day.
I included one of Mudgie's baby pictures in this week's post...one of the boys in the crib is Mudgie. Did you notice? I find it uncanny how alike the two boys look. Can you tell who is who?
