Aaron Turns 3!
Even though I've been having contractions since Monday, the baby remains squarely in my belly, and although we'd all love to meet him already, at least this meant Aaron has his birthday all to himself! For a special birthday treat, we went out to dinner at Kimball's. We had dinner there, but the anticipation of dessert meant not much real food was actually consumed. The boys (Dave included) thought we should make this a weekly ritual.
Aaron is such a quirky little kid. He is 100% his own person, though he certainly loves imitate his big brother from time to time. He'll do anything for a laugh, and is such a little performer. He has more faces than I can count, and he'll show them all for a willing audience. He, like most 3-year-olds, is very opinionated, and likes things just the way he likes them. When he gets really upset, he'll yell "No," and point his finger at you like he's scolding you. During tantrums, he'll blow raspberries when he gets really upset.
He's now doing really well on the potty, but still needs to be reminded to use it. Just this weekend, Dave showed him how to pee standing up. Ahh, the tricks of boys! He does not like to go poopy on the potty, and since we still put him in diapers at night and nap, he's trained his body to hold it for one of those times! We'll address that next, but for now, I'm so proud of the wonderful little boy he's become!
