Rain, rain, go away!

So it rained...all week long. The boys were cooped up inside for way too long, and Mudgie was starting to bounce off the walls (poor Karen), so on Friday, we went to Stroller Strides in Tewksbury, and stayed for open play after class. They have a couple rooms with toys, 1 giant room with ride-on toys (and little ride-on slide things), and then 2 big bouncy structures; a bouncy house with a slide, and a 2-story tall double slide. Mudgie went on everything, playing the whole 2 hours they were open. He went down the giant slide thing all by himself, going down forwards, backwards, on his butt, and on his belly. He had a great time and totally go out all of his pent-up energy. Aaron had a pretty good time too, going down some of the little slides, and loving the ride on toys!

Saturday was pretty low-key. The boys came to the paint store with me, and helped me pick out a new color for our shed. Mudgie has become very touchy in stores, making it difficult to go shopping with him. Fortunately, he was very well behaved in the paint store, and loved helping me pick out brushes and "check stuff out." Grammy and Grampy Weatherwax came up later that afternoon, and we went out to dinner. Both the boys were fantastic at the restaurant, and I think Aaron out-ate his brother, who consumed and entire quesadilla. Aaron ate a whole jar of food, Cherrios, and almost 2 quesadilla wedges. He's a bottomless pit!

On Sunday, Mudgie and Aaron had a playdate with Talia. We met a t "Touch a Truck" event, and while I was a little worried about the noisy trucks, I thought Mudgie would love it enough that it wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, I was wrong. He didn't want to go in any of the trucks, claiming they were "too scary," and then when the kids started beeping the horns in trucks, disaster ensued! He was crying to go home 30 minutes after we got there. Talia and her mom were very understanding, inviting us back to their place to play, and we ended up having a great time after all. We went home for nap, and when everyone was up, we took Grammy, Grampy, and Auntie Lisa to Kimball's for a treat! Aaron had his first tastes of ice cream (vanilla), and he loved it (shocking, I know). We even played in the arcade for a bit, and Mudgie got pretty good a couple of the games. Aaron loved all the lights and sounds in there too.

These boys are a lot of work, but they are so cute and lovable that one look at them and you forget all the bad stuff.
