Eli's first Thanksgiving (and other odds and ends)

Eli and I went to the doctor on Wednesday afternoon, as he was still snotty and congested. I just wanted to rule out an ear infection or strep throat before the long weekend. We had to wait about an hour at the doctor's office, but the good news was it was just a cold. So we went home and packed for a weekend out in Western Mass. Mudgie was very good on the ride out to Springfield. He only fussed when we hit traffic on the Mass Pike between exits 10 and 9.

Thanksgiving was fun. Everyone (us, Dave's parents, and my Mom and Michael) went over to Dave's cousin's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Eli got to meet lots of new family members. He was really good all day (as long as someone was holding and bouncing him, but what else is new?).

Friday Eli went to meet his great-grandmother on Dave's side. We also tried to do a little black Friday shopping, but the stores were too crazy, and both Eli and I were overwhelmed! Saturday Eli met Mommy's maid of honor, Jenn. As you can see, it was a big weekend for Eli. It's no wonder why he was tuckered out by the time Saturday night rolled around. Grammy Gail and Grampy Mike (and Aunt Lee) tried to babysit Eli while Dave and I went to my 10-year high school reunion...however, Mudgie had had enough with all the strangers and new people, and just wanted Mommy and Daddy. We were at the reunion for about an hour and half when my mom called to say Eli was crying inconsolably. I think Daddy planned it :).

Sunday we came home and switched into holiday season mode. We picked out Eli's first Christmas tree (or Chanukah bush or Festivus tree). It was snowing, and Eli had fun picking out a tree in his snow suit. Tomorrow it's back to the grind.
