Everyone's sick...and then we get better

While Mudgie started to get better by the end of last weekend, Mommy and Daddy got worse. Mudgie must have given Daddy an extra special dose of germs, because Daddy had to stay home sick most of last week...Mommy had 2 sick babies to take care of! Fortunately, everyone is feeling a lot better, though still not completely healthy now.

It's still unclear whether this was a fluke or if it will be happening on a regular basis, but for 2 nights this week Mudgie slept in his crib for more than 6 hours! This is such a huge step for him, and I hope it's a sign of things to come.

This week's pictures show Mudgie doing some of his favorite things. He loves playing with his bucket of shapes. It's the same game as pot and cups. He puts the shapes in the bucket, which has a great handle and makes dumping the shapes out super easy. He has to taste each one to see which shape/color he likes best. He's particularly fond of the orange stars. His other favorite game is playing with paper. No, it's not Christmas or his birthday. Wrapping paper just makes for much neater play than newspaper, which ends up all over his hands, and then, of course, in his mouth! He could play with paper for hours.

Mommy and Daddy got very adventurous this weekend. We took Mudgie out to dinner at a restaurant that is not geared towards families. It's not a fancy place by any stretch of the imagination, but it's not Chili's either. Mudgie was very well behaved, and completely content as long as we kept him supplied with Joe's O's (like Cherrios). It was a very nice experience, and we look forward to going out to eat again soon! Our other big activity was a hike through Westford. Really, I just wanted to try out our baby backpack to see how comfortable it was for both Eli and I, and to see how well Mudgie tolerated being in it. We went for a 3-ish mile walk, and determined we are ready for the mountains. I can't wait to take him up to NH!

So, while the week started off rough, it finished great, and we are all just loving the spring weather and the fact that we can finally go outside and play!

Mudgie is just so darn cute! The little hat in the hiking pic is adorable. Glad to hear he tolerates the hiking backpack. I wish Collin was old enough so we could go with you!
