6 Weeks Old and Aaron Smiles

This past week Aaron has started smiling at us...on purpose! He's always had the cutest sleep smiles, which showed off his dimple in the same spot as Mudgie. This week, however, he's given us smiles while awake...and not just because he's got gas (which he has a lot of). He'll actually look at something or someone and react to it. It's pretty fabulous.

Aaron has also started sleeping for longer stretches of time. He now sleeps for 3-4 hours at least once every night. Unfortunately, it's usually during his first stretch, which starts around 8pm, so I'm still not getting 3-4 hours of consecutive sleep, but I'm hopeful things continue to improve.

Tiggy spent longer in the hospital than we anticipated, but he finally got to come home on Thursday. Unfortunately, he wouldn't eat once he came home, so he had to go back to the hospital on Saturday to make sure nothing else was wrong. They gave him some special high calorie food (think kitty junk food) and an appetite stimulant and he seems to be doing better.

Mudgie has been coming home every day and reporting on the daily crisis at daycare. One day he told me, "Me scream. K-K give Mudgie time out." Another day it was "Cole go in police car (his favorite ride-on toy at daycare). Me cry." I love getting these little reports.

We all had a pretty laid-back long weekend. Mudgie did a lot of playing outside, and the whole family went for another walk in the woods on Memorial Day. Once again, Mudgie was a big fan and Aaron slept through the whole thing. We went around a big pond in town, and Mudgie loved when we stopped by the edge of the water so he could get out of the backpack. He threw rocks into the pond and thought it was the best game ever! I guess that's really all you need to entertain a 2-year-old...rocks and water.
